The Government has refused the parliament's proposal to include aspiration funds in the Draft State Budget for 2016. The proposed funds, included as “Electoral District Development Program”, are considered to contradict Nawa Cita/nine priority programs, which were declared the vision of President Joko Widodo's administration.

Police Chief Gen. Badrodin Haiti stated he also wants his institution to have an easy wiretapping authority, such as the one enjoyed by the Corruption Eradication Commission. KPK currently can wiretap without a court order, an authority that the Parliament is considering taking away in its KPK law revision.

Criminal law expert from Universitas Trisakti, Abdul Fickar Hadjar, declared that interested parties insisting to revise the KPK Law stand against corruption eradication efforts. The KPK Law Revision was entered into DPR's National Legislation Program of 2015. A number of crucial articles like KPK wiretapping authority and case dismissal (SP3) are the subject of the proposed revisions.
