Although the fit and proper test process to select candidates commissioners for the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has yet to begin, factions at the House of Representatives (DPR) have started to scrutinize track records of the candidates that were recommended by the government. So far, parliamentarians revealed they have identified candidates with poor qualification and ineligible to lead the anti-graft body.

KPK will make sure to capture all members of the North Sumatera Provincial Representative Council (DPRD) who received bribery from non-active Governor Gatot Pujo Nugroho. Deputy Chairman of KPK Adnan Pandu Praja revealed that return of money to KPK from DPRD members does not nullify the criminal violation.

Evy Susanti, wife of the non-active North Sumatera Governor Gatot Pujo Nugroho, had prepared USD 20,000 for Attorney General HM Prasetyo. The funds were designated to initiate communication with the AG in order to have information access about the case implicating her husband.

Chairman of DPR Setya Novanto is pushing to include revision of Law No. 30/2002 about KPK into the 2016 National Legislation Program (Prolegnas). Setya spelled out his intention when opening a parliament plenary session in Jakarta.

The Attorney General's Office pulled a prominent prosecutor currently on duty at KPK. Prosecutor Yuri Kristiana is currently responsible in the bribery cases implicating Patrice Rio Capella and Otto Cornelis Kaligis.
